‘Tis the season for parties, family get-togethers, gift giving and stress.

Yes, The holiday season is a time of joy, but it can also be one of the most stressful times of the year for many people.  If you find yourself frantic over a fashion faux pas, worried about wrapping or frustrated with family, read on for some helpful hints that may smooth the way to a season of serenity.

Plan Some Time For Yourself – Amidst taking care of others, remember to treat yourself with a little relaxation. Get a mani/pedi, relax in Cacique’s Tru To You loungewear with a good book or just take a well-deserved nap.

Don’t Plan To Party – Give yourself permission to NOT go to parties.  See and be seen during a few select soirees.  Over scheduling and overindulging can lead to over exhaustion.

Have An Attitude Of Gratitude – This is a good tip for every day of the year. Remember that you have the power to choose between being miserable and being grateful.  Your outlook will change when you begin to appreciate what is around you.

Be Realistic - The holidays don’t have to be perfect.  Dinners will get burned.  Guests will be late.  Be sure to keep things in perspective and appreciate the things that go right.

Get Some Exercise - There are lots of excuses for abandoning your exercise routine during the holidays, but exercise will decrease your stress level and increase your energy level. Whether you’re running around picking up last-minute gifts or running on the treadmill, you’ll look great in our new activewear collection.

Just Say “No!” - Don’t feel guilty for saying “no”.  You’ll feel empowered, less harried and will learn to feel confident in turning down a variety of energy-draining tasks throughout the year.

Judge Less. Accept More - It can be hard, but try to accept family members and friends as they are, even if they don’t live up to all of your expectations.

Make It A Family Affair Try to include everyone’s ideas by holding a family meeting to discuss family holiday plans.  Children may come up with some ideas you hadn’t thought of and they will enjoy being included in the decision-making.

Stick To A Budget Before going shopping, decide on your budget and stick to it. Homemade gifts or gift exchanges are great alternatives to give without stressing your purse strings.

Remember The Spirit Of The Season – Regardless of which holiday you celebrate, it should be a reflection of peace, love, kindness, and goodwill to others.  Keep that in mind as you plan your activities.
